Powder Coating vs Paint
A cured powder finish is thicker and tougher than most spray paint. The dry powder is sprayed with an electrostatic charge, then baked in an oven so it flows into a hard, even coat that resists chips, scratches and sun-fading better than liquid paint. Powder also contains no solvents, so there's less odor and no solvent runoff.
Paint still makes sense for some jobs — touch-ups, surfaces that can't go in an oven, or items too large to transport. For metal that lives outdoors in the San Antonio sun, though, powder coating holds its color and gloss far longer than spray paint. We'll tell you honestly which is the better fit for your part.

About Bexar Powder Coating & Blasting
We're a San Antonio shop built on careful prep and honest advice. Powder coating and blasting are all we do, and we do them right — from the first phone call to the day you pick up your parts or we finish on-site. We believe the finish is only as good as the prep underneath it, so every job starts with blasting and cleaning down to bare metal.
Where We Serve
We serve customers across San Antonio and its neighborhoods — from the historic center near downtown to the newer communities of the north and west sides. Mobile blasting comes to your home, business or job site.
Working Across San Antonio
We work across the whole city, and we mean it. One week we're refinishing wrought iron gates and railings on a historic home near downtown, the next we're coating patio furniture for a new pool in the north side, then blasting a truck frame for a project car out west. San Antonio's mix of old and new — the historic neighborhoods near downtown with their limestone and decorative ironwork, and the newer master-planned communities of the north and west sides with their pools and patio sets — is exactly the kind of work we take pride in.

Frequently Asked Questions
QHow much does powder coating cost?
The price depends on the size and number of parts, how much old coating and rust must come off, the surface, the finish and number of coats, the color, masking, any repairs, and removal and reinstallation for installed pieces. We give you a firm price after we see the job — never a guess.
QWhat colors and finishes can I choose?
Gloss, satin, matte, textured, metallic, candy and clear finishes are all available, in a wide range of colors. We can also color-match to a sample for custom work. Two-stage finishes — a base plus a clear or color coat — are used for candy, metallic and chrome-look effects.
QHow long does a powder coating job take?
Most shop jobs take a few business days, but turnaround depends on the size of the job, how much prep and blasting the parts need, and the cure time in the oven. We'll give you a realistic timeframe when we quote the work.
QDo you pick up and deliver?
Drop-off, pick-up and delivery details are confirmed when the job is booked. For dustless and mobile blasting, we bring the rig to your home, business or job site anywhere in San Antonio.
QWhich parts of San Antonio do you serve?
